Casting Call - Las Vegas Female Dancers

London Water.jpg

We are currently seeking a Las Vegas based dancer to cover the role of “Female Plant” in our Las Vegas production of Magic Mike Live! The first round of auditions for this role will be via self-tape and we will then select those who we’d like to see in person in front of our creative for callbacks. Please note that this dancer will be an on-call cover and not a part of the regular cast rotation.

ROLE DESCIPTION:

[FEMALE PLANT]. Female, 18+. 5’3” and under. Any/all ethnicities. Seeking a technically trained dancer with very strong partnering skills. Not a showgirl/stripper, but the “everywoman” who gets pulled from the audience and thrust into the world of MAGIC MIKE. From the audience perspective, she is another audience member who comes on stage during a song, and turns out to be an incredible dancer. She dances both in heels and barefoot, while wearing a bra and underwear only. Must be very comfortable with her body and her sexuality, and with floor work/intimate partner choreography. The role performs the “Rain Dance” in the show, so she will be getting wet.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

To be considered for these roles please prepare a video of yourself dancing freestyle barefoot to our 1-minute edit of the song “All To You” by Sabrina Claudio. You can download the MP3 of the song by clicking here: All To You.  Do not use another song.

The video should be shot landscape (horizontal) with a clean background and good lighting, ideally in a dance studio.

In the video, please wear form-fitting clothing so we can see your body and your lines. Include a slate of your name, agency if you have one, and height.

Please upload your tape and a headshot/resume to this link.

The Deadline for submissions is July 23. Callbacks will be held in person in Las Vegas on July 30.

*Please take into consideration the following notes about style when performing your freestyle. Routine should be in the vain of a sensual contemporary style of dance, though feel free to showcase your own style as well. Floorwork is particularly important to showcase as the role requires this. Freestyle should feel less performative and more intimate, almost as if you are dancing in your bedroom instead of on a stage for an audience. There should be an AUTHENTIC feeling that is soft and grounded at the same time. The energy should feel intimate and natural, not aggressive. There should be a subtlety and sense of total control in your movement while still finding moments to let loose. Technique and clean lines are important but should be woven seamlessly in. We would like to see you feeling sexy, strong, empowered, connected, and vulnerable.
